There are many additives that can be added to wine when you are making your own wine. Many of
these additives are used by big professional wineries when they make their wine. Vineyard quality wines can easily be made with the correct instructions and correct additives.
Some of these additives include enzymes, acid, and fortifiers. Knowing how and when to add them, however, can be the difference between a great batch of wine, and one that you have to pur out. But, up until recently, it was also pretty expensive - the only way to make GOOD, Quality wines was to use professional equipment, which could cost as much as $2,000. Even stand-alone winemaking kits can sell for as much as $500. Luckily, the last six months has seen a crop of Home winemaking kits and guides, which show exaclty how to make homemade wine yourself - using low cost materials, and these guides clearly explain and lay out to the novice winemaker when and how much of these additives to add. Before you use any extra chemicals in your wine, you should consult any of the multitudes of online resources or purchase one of the online guides or kits. We decided to sit down and review these new guides - our key criteria were ease-of-use, affordability of materials, and speed of setup. Overall, we were pleasantly suprised with the results - the guides evidently do work, and if you pick the right guide, you could well be up and fermenting your own homemade wine in a few hours.
